WELCOME, VISITOR. When the war ended, nobody trusted anybody to scrap their own warships. So the treaty said every ship would be placed on permanent exhibit: parked in plain sight and never flown again. Admiral Vance's flagship, the SUPERIOR, and what was left of her fleet were tied together in this graveyard orbit to become a museum.
The museum has not opened yet. Six caretakers were posted aboard to keep the ships ready for the day it does. Nobody ever cancelled their orders. That was eleven years ago, and they are still here.
“Permanent” was the treaty's word. The caretakers have started to take it personally.
